Research Supporting Latvian Informatics Industry
The programme is aimed at the investigation and further development of system and software engineering methods and to the transfer of these methods to Latvian IT companies. The programme is focused on further development of computer networks and on development of widely applicable innovative Digital Alias-free Signal Processing macro-modules for direct digital versatile processing of radio and microwave signals. Thus, the basic programme goal is to establish the scientific basis for the corresponding profile of Latvian IT companies.
Fundamental and applied research
The Latvian Council of Science provides financing for fundamental and applied researches. This programme is aimed at supporting projects in all scientific disciplines in Latvia. In total, there are 14 disciplines, including mobility research disciplines. In the framework of this programme there was a special research subprogramme started for supporting research in the field of IT (see programme "Research Supporting Latvian Informatics Industry").
Market oriented researches
The programme "Market oriented researches" is funding applied projects aimed to promote integration of science and industry, introduction of research results in industry, development of knowledge based branches, development of technologically oriented SMEs, improvement of quality assurance system and creation of new work places in knowledge based branches.
