ALIPRO will help to make the whole of the research programmes on mobility in the New Member States (NMS) and Accession Candidate Countries (ACC) more than the sum of its regional and national research programmes. ALIPRO will give an initial push to better aligning and integrating these programmes into the European Research Area. In addition, ALIPRO will also start a process of further improvement of scope and quality of the research programmes in the NMS and ACC. |
The ALIPRO consortium acts in close collaboration and accordance with governments of the NMS and ACC. The governments of Poland, Lithuania, and Romania officially support ALIPRO’s objectives and planned activities.
This official support and the strength of the consortium ensure that ALIPRO will achieve its objectives and the intended impact. The consortium comprises partners with complementary skills and experiences from all ten New Member States, three Accession Candidate Countries, and one old member country. This will enable the effective dissemination of results and their adoption by the public authorities in the NMS and ACC.
In particular, ALIPRO plans to have the following impact:
- Improvement of the existing and development of new national and regional research programmes on wireless technologies in the NMS and ACC that are adjusted to the needs of the European Union in view of the ERA objectives.
- Better alignment and integration of national and regional research programmes on mobility in the NMS and ACC with the European mobile IST research.
- Raised awareness of the existence of mobility-related research programmes among R&D entities in the region that will be translated into higher responsiveness to the calls directed to the NMS/ACC.
- Intensified mobility-related research activities in the NMS and ACC.
- Emergence of collaboration networks, and knowledge sharing via spin-offs.
