Agency for the Support of Science and Technology (APVT)
The Agency for the Support of Science and Technology (APVT) is the most important institution established by the law no. 203/2001 Z.z. about the agency in the Slovak Republic for the support of all areas of the science and technology. The agency supports R&D by providing financial resources from the state budget to applicants for the support of their own research plans. Quality of the research objective of an applicant is the most relevant criterion for the provision of financial resources. Thus, the agency contributes to increasing the level of quality by the provisioning of financial resources in a competitive environment as well as to a more effective utilization of financial resources.
The APVT submits every year a call for the support of individual R&D projects without any thematic limitations as well as a call for the support of projects submitted by young researchers and scientists in the framework of the "Support of young researchers and scientists" programme.
