Grant Agency of the Czech Republic - Czech Science Foundation
The Grant Agency of the Czech Republic (GA CR) - Czech Science Foundation - was established in April 1993 by the Czech law No. 300/1992 as an independent institution that should promote scientific progress over the whole range of scientific and technological development fields in the Czech Republic. Grants are provided to all kinds of Czech state and private research and development institutions and to private persons who are Czech citizens and reside permanently in the Czech Republic. Foreign private persons and institutions can cooperate in carrying out the grant projects.
GA CR grants can only be used to cover direct costs of a given project. Scientific research is directly funded, while a loan is provided for technological development.
Grant proposals can be submitted in five scientific fields:
- technical
sciences
- natural sciences
- medical sciences
- human and social sciences

agricultural sciences
The field of technical sciences includes mobility projects. The work on the project is assessed by committees and subcommittees of individual target domains on the basic of yearly reports submitted by the grant holder. The results obtained in the execution of a supported project have to be published in a form corresponding to the character of the given field.
